Buccaneer Field
Barry University is fortunate to have many quality athletic facilities, including the Health & Sports Center, a $4.5 million structure. The softball team plays its home games on Buccaneer Field, one of the best fields in South Florida.
Barry University has established a powerful tradition at Buccaneer Field, compiling a 21-year overall record of 335-108-1 (.756). Last year, the Buccaneers posted a 15-3 home record. The Bucs have posted winning records in 18 of the last 19 years at Buccaneer Field, including a perfect 17-0 in 1991. Buccaneer Field was also site of the 1997, 2002 and 2003 NCAA South Regional Tournament.
Recent renovations to the facility include the construction of a new grandstand and press area and the addition of a new Daktronics scoreboard with inning-by-inning results. Located behind the right field fence, the scoreboard is 24 feet long and 12 feet high. A public address system keeps the fans informed and entertained.
Buccaneer Field's dimensions are 190 feet down the lines, 220 feet to center field, and 200 feet in the alleys.
