Softball Jumps Eight Spots In National Poll
The Bucs climbed eight spots to #16 in the latest NFCA National Poll.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. | The Barry University softball team made a big move in the first regular season edition of the NFCA Division II Softball Poll, leaping eight spots from No. 24 in the preseason to No. 16 in the current rankings.

Humboldt State holds down the top position this week, while West Texas A&M checks in at No. 2. After the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers is Grand Valley State in fourth, while Armstrong Atlantic rounds out the top five.

Tampa, at No. seven, is the only other Sunshine State Conference team in the rankings, while UAH and Valdosta State (No. 19) represent the Gulf South Conference and the South Region in the poll.

The Bucs got out of the gate with a 7-2 mark in the early part of the season, with a double-header sweep of Flagler at home and a region win over West Florida at the Eckerd College Invitational.

The Bucs play at cross-town rival St. Thomas on Saturday, Feb. 22 before returning home to face the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
