HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years at Miami Southwest High under coach Iris Carpio, earning All-Dade honors four times, including first team in 2005 and 2007 ... Hit .310 with a home run and 10 RBI as a senior ... Scored 22 runs and stole 10 bases ... Hit .320 with two homers and 11 RBI as a junior ... Was named the Eagles’ Rookie of the Year in 2005 as a freshman ... Also played four years of volleyball and two of basketball.
