Torres Named to Grand Rapids All-Tourney Team

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Senior middle blocker/outside hitter Tania Torres was named to the Grand Rapids Classic All-Tournament team as selected by host Grand Valley State University.

Torres, a Camuy, Puerto Rico native, pounded a team-high 54 kills in the four-match tournament, helping Barry go 3-1 and place third at the event. Torres hit .256, and had nine blocks while starting all four matches.

She was one of seven players named to the team.

Torres leads Barry with 89 kills for an average of 3.07 per set. She is hitting .226, having started all eight matches this season for the Buccaneers, who improved to 5-3 overall.

Barry will host the Alumni Match at 7 p.m. Friday in the Health & Sports Center.
