WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Sweeps are always triple times more gratifying.

Barry pulled off the trifecta in sweeping Bentley, 25-15, 25-22, 25-18, Saturday at Palm Beach Atlantic's Bash at the Beach volleyball tournament. The Buccaneers (9-7) are 1-1 in the three-match, five-team tournament, and will play Claflin (12-7) at 2 p.m. Saturday to conclude its second trip to PBA this year.

The Buccaneers put away 43 kills, hitting .337, using contributions from throughout the lineup in a close-to-dominating performance Barry had been in search of this season. Bentley was held to .099 hitting, as the Buccaneers outblocked the Falcons, 5.5 to 2.

Sophomore transfer Jayla Trombley, a New Mexico product who came to Miami Shores with high regard, finished with eight kills, eight digs and three assists. Laine Cielena, a freshman from Latvia who's had success in PBA's Rubin Arena on more than one occasion this season, had seven kills, two blocks and a .312 attack percentage. Alicia Guerrero, the cerebral senior who is versatile when given the opportunity, finished with six kills, five digs and a .357 hitting percentage.

Senior setter Mima Hajdukovic, a Serbian steadying force who continues to rise on the Buccaneers' all-time assist list amongst the top 10, had six kills, 27 assists, eight digs and two blocks.

The Buccaneers improved to 6-2 in neutral site matches.
