Men's Basketball Faces Florida Southern Saturday

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University men's basketball team hits the road to meet Florida Southern at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

The Buccaneers (6-3, 1-0 Sunshine State Conference) are coming off two straight overtime wins, the latter an 86-80 victory over Florida Tech Wednesday to open league play.

Barry lost to the No. 27 nationally-ranked Moccasins (8-1, 1-0 SSC) in both meetings last season. The Bucs dropped a four-point contest at home in February.

Florida Southern is the league's top-scoring team, averaging 84.6 points per game. Barry has allowed opponents to score 80 or more points in only two of its nine games.

The Mocs have three players scoring in double figures in junior guard Dominic Lane (16.6 ppg, 6.2 reb), senior guard Seth Evans (14 ppg) and junior forward Lamar McKnight (12.1 ppg, 5.6 reb).

The Buccaneers have four players averaging in double figures with senior guard Justin McCoy (13.7 ppg, 3.6 apg), senior guard Bryan Van Cott (13.4 ppg), senior forward Aaron Martin (11.9 ppg, 4.3 reb) and senior guard Chad Renfro (11.6 ppg, 5.6 reb).
