Ellen
Gallagher enters her second season as the assistant coach of Barry University’s women’s rowing program
and head coach of the women’s novice program. She is entering her fourth
year coaching. Prior to Barry, she spent two years with the Boston College
program which was filled with success. The novice women captured gold at
the Big East Rowing Challenge for the first time in program history. Additionally,
the novice second eight won gold at New England Rowing Championships.
While
pursuing a BA in Political Science, Gallagher was a member of the rowing
team for four years including her senior year when the program made its
debut as a NCAA sport at Boston College. During this time she earned several
honors
including: Big East Academic All-Star, Boston College Distinguished Scholar
Athlete and repeated Dean’s List first honors.
Prior to Boston College, Gallagher excelled as the captain of her high school
team at Annapolis Rowing Club. She is currently studying in the Barry
University Sport Management program.
