LOUISVILLE, Ky. –Alexis Yohe of Barry University has been selected as the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II National Pitcher of the Week for April 3.

The reigning Sunshine State Conference Pitcher of the Week, Barry’s Yohe made her mark from the circle in a major way this past week by going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, two complete game shutouts and 10 strikeouts over 14 innings of work as the Buccaneers took two-of-three games from then-No. 7 Rollins (L 1-5, W 4-0, 1-0).  In a 4-0 triumph over the Tars, the senior hurler scattered four hits while posting six strikeouts. During the series finale, Yohe tossed a one-hitter and retired 14 of the final 15 batters she faced in the 1-0 victory.  The pair of wins marked the first time an opponent had shutout Rollins in consecutive games since back on April 23, 2008.  Yohe currently leads Barry with a 12-5 pitching record and 90 strikeouts over 110 innings of work to go along with a 1.78 ERA and five complete game shutouts.

Yohe is the first Buccaneer to earn national pitcher of the week since 2003.
