HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. — Barry University men’s golf team finished second at the NCAA South/Southeast Super Regional after shooting a final-round 291, which was 16 strokes behind Nova Southeastern University.

Jared Dalga shot a 2-under-par 70 in the final round to pace the Buccaneers.

Freshman Adam Svensson fired a 71, and finished in third place, four strokes behind medalist Ben Taylor of Nova.

After a final round of 73, Scott Smyeres finished seventh, while Marcus Segerstrom and Simon Forsslund shot 77 and 78, respectively, in their final rounds.

Columbus State, Florida Southern, Lynn, West Florida and South Carolina-Aiken will all join the Buccaneers and Sharks in the NCAA Division II national tournament at Hershey Country Club in Hershey, Pa., May 19-24.

“We are very excited about moving on and playing for the National Championship,” Barry coach Jimmy Stobs said. “We didn’t play our best, but got the job done. I am very proud of my team.”

This marks the seventh time in program history the Bucs will appear in the NCAA Finals. Barry will be making its fifth straight trip to the NCAA Championships.
