Vivas Falls in Men's Tennis Semifinals

PEMBROKE PINES, Fla. -- Barry University men's tennis player Leo Vivas lost in the semifinals to Mark Losev, 6-3, 6-2, in the Pembroke Lakes Championships at Pembroke Lakes Racquet Club Monday.

Vivas was the last Buccaneer standing in the 50-player field, which began Saturday.

He went 3-1, all in the winner's bracket. Losev, the No. 5 seed from Sunny Isles Beach, Fla., moved on to the finals to play the winner of No. 1-seeded Roman Bormanov, of Beaverton, Ore., and Orlando Puleo, of Lauderhill, Fla.

Barry will complete play in the fall season at the Florida Gulf Coast Invitational and Weston Open Tennis Championships this weekend.
