CLEARWATER, Fla.—Camille Czarnecki led the 24th-ranked Barry Buccaneers (4-1) to a pair of wins at the Eckerd College Invitational on a damp, cold day at the Eddie C. Moore Complex on Saturday. The Bucs dispatched Lindenwood 2-1 and West Florida 5-0.

GAME ONE

The Bucs eked out a narrow 2-1 win over the Lindenwood Lions in game one. Kayla Ogle singled up the middle to drive in Czarnecki who had doubled in the bottom of the seventh.

Barry struck first in the third inning. Megan Copeland doubled to left-center and came around to score on an error by Lions’ shortstop Courtney Kitson.

Kitson got the run back in the fourth. Alexis Theis walked to lead off the inning and Kitson delivered a two-out single to drive her in and knot the game.

In the seventh, Czarnecki doubled over the head of centerfielder Hannah Braun with one out. Ogle delivered the game-winner with a single up the middle off the glove of Kitson one out later.

Czarnecki (3-0) also picked up the win in the circle in relief of Britney Pugh. Czarnecki went 3.2 scoreless innings, giving up four hits and striking out two. Kendell Ryndak (0-2) went the distance for the Lions, surrendering two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks, while striking out three.

GAME TWO

In the nightcap, in a game postponed from 11:00 am to 9:08 pm, Czarnecki tossed a complete-game two hit shutout of West Florida (3-6). She faced just one batter over the minimum on just 60 pitches, without walking or striking out a batter.

Copeland stole the only run the Bucs would need in the first inning. She singled, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch by Taylor Bailey and scored on a throwing error by catcher Aubrey Sumlin.

Copeland reprised the run in the fourth inning. She drew a lead-off walk, stole second, and came around on two wild pitches by Bailey. Pinch runner Christal Cruz scored on a ground out by Czarnecki.

In the fifth, Ogle singled and stole second. Copeland cashed her in with a single up the middle. Julie Brito knocked in Copeland with a single through the left side.

Bailey (2-3) worked four innings for the Argonauts. She allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and three walks and struck out four.

Barry faces Flagler and Colorado Christian on Sunday to close out the tournament.
