WINTER PARK, Fla. -- Barry University men's tennis team is represented by six players and head coach George Samuel on the All-Sunshine State Conference Teams.

Freshman Ahmed Triki was named the SSC Player of the Year in addition to the league's Freshman of the Year. Samuel earned the SSC Coach of the Year honor for the seventh straight season and 14th overall in his 23-year career with the Buccaneers men's program. His seven straight and 14 overall coaching honors are the most in league history.

Samuel was co-Coach of the Year in 2011, and has won it outright every other year, dating back to 2008.

Triki was joined by fellow freshman Nico Dreer on the All-SSC First Team in singles. Senior Ollie Lemaitre and Triki earned First-Team All-SSC doubles distinction.

Sophomore Renato Lombardi and senior Leo Vivas were selected to the All-SSC Second Team in singles. Senior Romain Costamagna and Vivas earned Second-Team doubles honors.

Junior Kevin Sielmann was an All-SSC Honorable Mention selection.

Ranked seventh in the country, Triki, of Tunis, Tunisia, is 12-3 -- all at No. 1 singles this season -- with a 5-3 record against nationally-ranked opponents. He and Lemaitre are 11-2 in doubles, with 10 of those wins coming at the No. 1 flight. Lemaitre, of Noumea, New Caledonia, and Triki own the country's No. 2 doubles ranking. Lemaitre is one doubles victory shy of tying Marco Mokrzycki's school career record of 79.

Dreer, of Albstadt, Germany, has a team-best 14-1 singles record, which includes a 6-0 mark at the No. 4 spot. He is 3-0 against ranked opponents. Lombardi, of Lausanne, Switzerland, is 13-1 in singles, and is 1-0 against ranked opponents. Eleven of his wins have come at the Nos. 5-6 flights. Vivas, of Caracas, Venezuela, is 15-4 in singles. His 15 victories lead the Bucs. Vivas is 2-1 against ranked opponents.

Costamagna, of Cagnes-sur-mer, France, and Vivas are 16-4 in pairs play. Their 16 wins are the most on the team, and include a 2-0 record against ranked duos. Fifteen of their victories have come at the No. 2 flight.

Sielmann is 10-1 in singles, including a 5-1 mark at No. 6. He is 1-0 against ranked opponents.

The Buccaneers are 21-2 this season, are coming off their third straight SSC Tournament championship, and will host one of two NCAA Division II South Regionals to open the national tournament, beginning 10 a.m. Monday.
