Buccaneer Golf Day Follows Ring Ceremony

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 1-ranked men's golf team will host the ninth annual Buccaneer Golf Day Friday at 11:30 a.m. at Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach.

The annual golf outing to raise funds will follow the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship team's ring ceremony Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in the Landon Atrium of the Health & Sports Center. Barry men's golf team won its second consecutive national title in May.

This year's Ring Ceremony will be broadcast on the Buccaneer Broadcasting Network at 4:30 p.m.

Buccaneer Golf Day begins with an 11:30 a.m. lunch at Barry's par-71 home course. A total of 84 players in 20 groups made up of alumni, Barry Board of Trustees, family and friends of hte program will be paired with one member of the men's or women's golf team for a 1 p.m. shotgun start.

Proceeds from the Golf Day will benefit travel costs for the golf program and to fund the new travel van, which will be unveiled Friday. Funds raised will also benefit Pals-4-Paws. A raffle will give golfers a chance to win an NCAA Championship ring, golf clubs, team golf bags and travel bags and Buccaneer golf apparrel.

This year's Buccaneer Golf Day is sponsored by Old Republic National Title Insurance Company, The Garner Foundation, Bacardi and Kind Snacks.
