CLEARWATER, Fla.—The 19th-ranked Barry Buccaneers split a pair of games on Saturday at the Eckerd College Invitational, falling to Georgia College 5-2, but bouncing back to beat 10th-ranked Columbus State 2-0.

In the second game, Alexis Yohe (1-0) tossed a three-hit shutout of the Cougars, striking out nine without a walk.

Julie Brito had an RBI single in the first and Kelly Martinez singled, stole second and scored on a wild pitch in the second. Brito and Megan Copeland, who scored in the first, each had two hits for the Bucs.

Mollie Russell (2-3) took the loss for the Cougars. She allowed two runs (one earned) on six hits and a walk and struck out 10. Nicole Turner had all three hits for CSU.

In the first game, Barry gave up three unearned runs in the first and could not make up the difference.

Sarah Broeseker and Britney Pugh (1-1) drove in the runs for the Bucs. Pugh took the loss. She allowed five runs (two earned) in 4.1 innings and struck out two. Marisa Boyette (3-1) scattered eight hits, allowing two runs (one earned) on eight hits.

The Bucs close the tournament on Sunday against Tampa and Colorado Christian.
