Softball Climbs Seven Spots To #9

LOUISVILLE, Ky. | The Barry University softball team made another big move this week in the NFCA Division II Softball Poll, climbing seven spots from #16 into the Top 10 at #9.

The best start to a campaign in school history has helped West Texas A&M (17-0) ascend into the No. 1 spot in the latest NFCA Division II softball poll. The Lady Buffs received 15 of 16 possible first-place votes from the committee to total 399 points and lead No. 2 Alabama-Huntsville (11-2 – one first-place vote) by a commanding 16 tallies.

California Baptist (16-3) ranks third, while previous number one Humboldt State (15-4) drops into a fourth-place tie with Texas Women’s (14-3)

Florida Tech (11-4) comes in at #18, while Tampa (6-2) after dropping two-of-three to the Panthers, falls to #21. The Bucs, Panthers, Spartans and UAH chargers are the only teams ranked in the South Region.

The Bucs play the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish at home on Wednesday, Feb. 26, and then hit the road for eight games over spring break.
