WINTER PARK, Fla. – Barry women’s basketball suffered their second straight loss Wednesday night, as they fell to Sunshine State Conference rival, No.10 Rollins, 65-46.
The Bucs trailed 13-0 before scoring their first points and they were never able to gain the lead.
A combination of poor shooting (39.3% from the field) and 21 turnovers put the Bucs in a hole from which they could not recover, dropping their record to 8-5, 1-2 SSC.
Junior guard Jackie Perez led all scorers with 16 points that included four 3-pointers. Perez, Amra Elezovic and Kaylia Richardson tied with a team-leading six rebounds. Richardson, a senior forward, had a noteworthy 12 points on the night.
Senior guards Ashley Losch and Emmalee Schill led the Tars (10-1, 2-0 SSC) scoring 14 and 12, respectively. Schill was also tied for first on her team in assists with four. Fellow senior guard Sarah Taylor led Rollins in rebounds with seven.
Up next for Barry is a home game versus local rivals Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday, January 10th at 2:00 PM.
