MIAMI SHORES, FL.--The Carolina RailHawks announced today the signing of former Barry midfielder Mark Anderson ahead of the 2015 NASL Season.

“We are very happy to add Mark to our roster,” said RailHawks Head Coach Colin Clarke. “Since joining the league in 2012 he has proven his abilities. Every time we played against the Strikers we knew he was a player to watch and now we are happy to have him on our side. I am sure that with him and the other additions to our roster we will be a step closer to bringing a Championship to the Triangle.”

Anderson joins the RailHawks after playing for three successful seasons with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, where he scored 19 goals in 65 games and clocked nearly 5,000 minutes. In 2012 he was named to NASL Best XI team.

The Durham, England native played for Barry from 2008 till 2011. In his time on campus he won 2011 National Player of the Year honors and 2011 Capital One Academy All-America of the year of Division II men’s soccer. Anderson also represented Great Britain at the 2011 World University Games in Shenzhen, China, scoring two goals and leading his country to the finals, where they earned the silver medal.

“It's a great honor to put pen to paper on a deal for the RailHawks. They have shown a lot of interest in me and is always nice to know you’re wanted,” said Anderson. “I scored my first professional goal at WakeMed Soccer Park and I hope that I can help bring a lot of success to the RailHawks.”
