Kern Pedersen enters his sixth year at Barry as a volunteer assistant coach. He brings over 20 years of coaching and playing experience to the Buccaneer staff.

 

Born in Denmark, Pedersen has lived in Canada and in several United States cities. A former professional satellite player for two years, Pedersen’s coaching background includes five years at the high school level in California and nearly 15 years in camps and clinics throughout the U.S. He has also coached 15 years for the Nike/ADIDAS Summer Tennis camps in California and at the Nunez Tennis Academy for three years.

 

His collegiate coaching experience includes five years at the Notre Dame summer tennis camps. He also served as the assistant coach at the University of West Florida for four seasons, as the Argonauts claimed six of eight conference tournament championships. Just prior to Barry, he served as a volunteer assistant coach for the University of Miami men’s team and as an assistant coach for the Florida International women’s tennis team.
