Rowing Hosts Barry-Nova Dual Saturday in Miami Beach

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's rowing crew will host the Barry-Nova Southeastern Dual 7:45 a.m. Saturday in Miami Beach at Shane Rowing Center. There will be two races, a Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+, the latter scheduled to start at 8 a.m. on the 2,000-meter course.

The race will start at 42nd Street on the intercoastal waterway across from Fountainbleau Hotel on the East side of Indian Creek Drive. The finish line is located at the 53rd Street park, roughly a mile south of Shane Rowing Center, which is located at 6500 Indian Creek Dr. Fans can gather in the 53rd Street park, where there is parking available, to watch the races.

It is Barry's lone home event of the season.

The Buccaneers, which have won the past two Sunshine State Conference Boat of the Week awards, have enjoyed a solid start to the season. Barry has won all three Varsity 8 races the past two Saturdays in Fellsmere, Fla. The Bucs' 4 have won two races to open the season.
