MIAMI SHORES, Fla. -- Barry University's No. 2-ranked women's tennis team host No. 8 Lynn at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the final Sunshine State Conference regular season match this year at Buccaneer Tennis Center.

The Buccaneers (20-0, 7-0 SSC) will make up last week's match with the Fighting Knights (14-2, 6-1) after rain postponed the originally-scheduled tilt between the two league women's tennis powers last Monday. Barry will conclude the regular season with Saturday's 10 a.m. match against NAIA No. 17 St. Thomas.

Barry beat Lynn twice last season, including a 5-2 decision to clinch the Bucs' third straight SSC Championships title in Lakeland. The Buccaneers also beat the Fighting Knights, 6-3, in Boca Raton in the regular season. Barry's last loss to Lynn, a 6-3 verdict, came on April 4, 2011 in Miami Shores.

The Bucs are 88-17 in singles play and 50-6 in doubles action this season. The Fighting Knights are 63-21 in singles and 32-16 in doubles.

Barry's Akemi Maehama has a personal-best 17 singles victories this season against just one defeat. Freshman Karina Goia is 15-1 in singles, and 12-1 with Isabela Miro in doubles. No. 33 Linda Fritschken is 13-1 in singles. Fritschken and Kimmy Twelker are 17-1 in doubles. No. 41 Emma Onila is 16-2 in singles. She and Elisabeth Abanda are 15-3 in pairs play as the 11th-ranked duo in the country.

Lynn's fourth-ranked Valentine Confalonieri is 12-1 in singles. Thirteenth-ranked Ioana Ivan is 13-1. Combined, the No. 3-ranked Fighting Knights pair is 14-1 in doubles. Ana Kriz is 10-2 in singles.

Barry will compete in the SSC Championships April 18-20 at South County Regional Park in Boca Raton.
