Pugh and Rios-Reyes Earn Weekly Awards From Conference

WINTER PARK, Fla. –Barry’s Britney Pugh and Luis Rios-Reyes have been selected by the Sunshine State Conference as Softball Pitcher and Baseball Player of the Week, presented by VALIC.

Senior pitcher Pugh tossed a no-hitter in a five-inning 13-0 win for the No. 24 Buccaneers over Kentucky State. The senior allowed just one base runner on a walk in the complete-game shutout. Pugh struck out six batters and face one over the minimum. It was her first no-hitter as a Buccaneer.

Junior Rios-Reyes led Barry to a three-game sweep at Tuskegee, hitting .417 (5-of-12) with a slugging percentage of .750. The infielder recorded four doubles during the series, including a bases-clearing double in final game of the series. Rios-Reyes recorded seven RBI in the sweep.
