Women’s Basketball Stumbles At Home Against Rival Sharks

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University’s women’s basketball team fell to Sunshine State Conference foe Nova Southeastern Wednesday night at the Health and Sports Center, 86-73 .

Barry (13-10, 5-8 SSC) fell behind trailing by 18 at the break and despite a late rally, the Bucs were not able to get within eight points the rest of the way of a hot-shooting Nova squad.

The Buccaneers outscored Nova Southeastern (20-2, 10-2 SSC) in the second half, but the Sharks shot 50 percent from the field and 44 percent from beyond the arch in route to the win.

Nova had four players in double figures and were paced by Richelle Carach’s 21 point, 8 rebound performance.

Tyler Hardy led the Buccaneers’ offense with a game-high 25 point 11 rebound night while Kaylia Richardson also added 20 points.

Barry returns to action Saturday for the final home game of the regular season to cap-off Homecoming Week at Barry University in a matchup against the Tars of Rollins College, with tip-off scheduled for 4 p.m.
