MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University men’s golf team opens the 2014-15 season Monday Sept. 15-16 at the Brickyard Invitational in Indianapolis.

The two-time defending NCAA Division II National Champion Buccaneers are scheduled to compete in nine regular season tournaments, including four in the fall. Last year the Bucs won the Brickyard Invitational at Brickyard Crossing Golf Club to pave the way for a school-record eight tournament victories.

A week after opening the season, Barry will compete in the Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf Club in Dade City, Florida. On Oct. 6-7, the Bucs will shoot for a chance to repeat as Guy Harvey Invitational champs at PGA National Golf Club in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.

Barry closes the fall season Oct. 20-21 at the Otter Invitational at Bayonet Golf Course in Seaside, California. The Bucs were the runner-up at Cal State Monterey Bay’s event last year.

The Bucs open the spring portion of the season at the Matlock Classic at Lone Palm Country Club in Lakeland, Fla., Feb. 9-10. Barry heads out West a second time during the season, making a trip to the Las Vegas Desert Classic at Paiute Golf Club for Missouri-St. Louis’ tournament March 1-2.

Following back-to-back trips to Georgia the following two weeks, Barry hosts The Buccaneer Invitational at Normandy Shores Golf Club in Miami Beach March 30-31. It is the first time since 2006 Barry’s tournament will be held solely in March when the Buccaneers used Westview Country Club in Miami. It is also the first time ever at Normandy Shores a tournament champion will be crowned in March. Barry is the defending Buccaneer Invitational champ.

The postseason begins April 12 at the Sunshine State Conference Championships.
