KANSAS CITY, Kan.—As the Barry Buccaneers prepare to host the Sunshine State Conference Women’s Soccer Tournament this weekend, their good season continued to get rave reviews as they stand for the third week in a row at number two on the NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Poll.
The Bucs (11-1-2, 7-0-1 SSC) trail only undefeated, untied Minnesota State-Mankato in the poll. The Mavericks are the only undefeated, untied team in the country.
The Bucs won the regular season title in the SSC for the second straight year and extended their overall conference record to eight regular season titles in the 17 years the league has sponsored the championship. Tampa and Rollins, each with three titles, are tied for a distant second.
Additionally, the Bucs are ranked first in the NCAA Division II South Region Poll. The top two seeds with host the regional first and second round games on Nov. 14-16.
