MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – Barry University women’s golf coach Shannon Sykora announced the signing of letters of intent for two incoming recruits.

Tilda Larsson and Gabriela Victoria will begin competing for the Buccaneers in the fall of 2015.

“Both of these young ladies have the desire to be good players, and I know their development will only get better,” Sykora said.

Larsson, an Emmaboda, Sweden, native, who is completing her high school studies at Vilhelm Mobergsgymnasiet, where she is president of the student council, has won three tournaments on the Skandia Tour this year. She won the Carin Koch Junior Open at Gullbringa Golf & Country Club July 20, shooting 78-73 – 151. She won the Skandia Tour National #3 Smaland event at Isaberg Golf Club June 14-15, shooting 76-76-77 – 229. Larsson also won the Galvin Green Junior Open April 27, shooting a 4-over 76-72 – 148 at Vaxjo Golf Club.

She is ranked 26th on the Skandia Tour, and has a low round of 70.

“Tilda is a tremendous talent who is an up-and-coming Swedish player, an excellent student, and will be able to come in and contribute right away,” Sykora said.

Victoria, who hails from the Dominican Republic and is finishing her prep studies at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., entered her senior year with a 3.5 grade point average. She tied for third at TPC Prestancia Oct. 4-5, shooting back-to-back 77s. She tied for fifth at IMG Junior Tour’s event at Eagle Creek Golf Club Oct. 18-19, shooting 73-78 – 151. Victoria was third on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Southwest Florida Junior Challenge Oct. 25-26 after shooting 73-76 – 149.

She has competed for the Dominican Republic Junior National Team.

“Gabby will be a great asset to us because she has a lot of tournament and international experience,” Sykora said.

The Buccaneers will begin play in the spring Feb. 8-9 at the World Golf Invitational in St. Augustine, Fla.
