SOPHOMORE (FALL 2008): Advanced to the semifinal of the CL Varner Memorial Invitational by knocking off top seed Jenny Frisell ... Finished third at the College of Charleston Invitational ... Posted a 4-3 singles record and a 3-3 doubles record.

 

FRESHMAN: Finished the season ranked 35th ... Posted the most singles wins of any Buccaneer during the season going 17-5 ... Played mostly from the number three flight, but went 4-0 from the number one and two spots ... Went 18-10 in doubles with four different partners ... Beat the 19th-ranked team of Ekert and Jiskrova 9-7 from Lynn on April 4 with partner Helen Wisniewski ... Named to SSC Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll ... In the fall, was defeated in a tight quarterfinal singles match against Florida Southern’s Senka Softic in the ITA Regional ... Advanced to the doubles semifinals with teammate Csordas. 

 

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was the Bavarian Champion in singles and doubles ... Munich Champion for several years ... Ranked #1 in Munich and in the Top-Five in Bavaria for her age group ... Named to the Top 80 players in Germany for 2006.

 

PERSONAL: Daughter of Hartmut and Renate Werschel ... Has one brother Roman, a member of Barry’s men’s tennis team ... Majoring in sport management.
