The Amazing Race

The Duathlon took place along the Adriatic Sea and began with a 6.2 mile run, followed by a 25 mile road bike, and ended with a 3.1 mile run. Walker finished the race in 34th place out of 110 in his age group, and 211th out of 700 overall. His first time competing at the ITU World Championships, Walker completed the race in 2 hours and 13 minutes.

Team USA was created by USA Triathlon to be a team of amateurs in triathlons and duathlons, who can best represent the United States in the ITU World Championships. Approximately 1,100 athletes from more than 50 countries took part in the World Championships. Walker earned a spot on Team USA by finishing 5th overall at the World Qualifier on May 10 in Sarasota, Florida.
