Edwards assumed the role July 1 and takes over for Tim Czerniec, who retired in June.

Prior to assuming his position at Barry, Edwards spent three years as executive associate vice president for Finance at Texas A&M University where he led a team of more than 50 people who were responsible for financial management of the Texas A&M operating and capital budgets, procurement of goods and services, contract administration and management reporting.

He also spent 10 years in the airline industry, working for American Airlines as a senior financial analyst, manager of planning and analysis, and manager of financial planning; and Delta Airlines, holding the positions of general manager of operations finance, general manager and controller, director of financial planning and director of operations finance.

Edwards, a certified public accountant, earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting from Texas A&M in 1991, and his master’s of business administration from the University of Texas in 1995.
