Tee Time

With more than $120,000 raised towards Barry scholarships, this year’s Ryder-Benjamin Golf Tournament was the most successful in the history of the 14-year event. More than 150 golfers turned out for the fundraising event, which took place April 25 at the Miami Beach Golf Club.

For the first time, golfers taking part in the tournament had the opportunity to play with Barry’s reigning national championship men’s golf team. Sodexo Education was this year’s title sponsor, contributing $50,000 to the event. Ryder was also a major sponsor providing $30,000 to be used towards student scholarships.

The tournament was also made possible through the more than 50 university student and staff volunteers who worked together to organize the day’s events, which included a dinner and awards reception. The winning team of this year’s tournament consisted of Jayson Yao, Lianne Yao, Anthony Hadderer and John Yao.
