ALUMNI CONNECTION

Letter from the Assistant Vice President for Alumni Relations

Dear Barry Alumni,

It is my pleasure to introduce myself as the new assistant vice president of alumni relations at Barry University. It is my intention to provide our alumni with the best in services, programs and events. We have a great team in the alumni relations office and we are here to serve each of our more than 44,000 alumni.

We hope that you have already begun to notice changes in the Alumni Association, from the marketing pieces we create to the redesign of our Web site to the branding of the Association with our tagline, “Barry Proud.”

This coming year will bring more significant changes including renovations at the Vivian Decker Alumni House, the launch of a comprehensive online alumni community, e-mail forwarding to maintain contact with your friends and colleagues, as well as development of alumni chapters. This year we will also work to create chapters for specific schools and affinity groups, such as our fraternity and sorority and community service programs.

You can now reach us toll free at 1-877-899-ALUM, making it easier for alumni who are out of the area to connect with the Association. We recently conducted an alumni attitude survey to gauge how we are doing and how we can improve the Association.

We welcome your input at anytime and encourage you to stay connected and get involved. You can do this by referring a high school student to Barry, become a mentor to a current student, give back and contribute to the Annual Fund, and by helping to provide scholarships to one of the many deserving Barry University students.

Yours in service,

Sean Kramer
Assistant Vice President, Alumni Relations
