It All Adds Up

The books were created through research Luna conducted during the 2006-2007 school year during which time he worked with a group of 219 third-and fourth-grade teachers and their students in urban and rural public schools.

The book, “Explora la Matematica: Grade 3,” was published in October, and his second book, “Explora la Matematica: Grade 4,” is currently being printed. Both books were sponsored by a United States Agency for International Development (USAID) grant. The purpose of the grant is to improve the teaching of mathematics at the elementary school level through the comprehensive training of first- through fourth-grade teachers.
