Todd Edwards ’88

People may be seeing more of Todd Edwards ’88 in the near future. The creative mind behind Reality Rhyming is working on a deal that may land him on one of the home shopping networks, considered to be Valhalla for anyone with a product to sell and dreams of hitting the big time.

Reality Rhyming can best be summed up by its motto, “If your life was a poem what would it say?” Edwards takes the name of a person and using each letter creates a poem for any occasion. His clients have included Oprah Winfrey, Justin Timberlake, Suzanne Sommers, Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa.

“In 2004 I went to a coed baby shower and wanted to give a unique gift,” Edwards says. “I could always write so I did a spin-off of poetry. The girl’s name was Isabella so I created the story of her life using each letter of her name to start sentence. And that’s how it all started.”

When Edwards isn’t creating his life poems he teaches English and writing at Barbara Goleman Senior High School in Miami Lakes.
