Sync or Swim

Participants in the inaugural Sync or Swim competition strike a pose with Barry President Sister Linda Bevilacqua, OP, PhD.

FAB (Future Alumni of Barry) hosted the inaugural Sync or Swim event at Penafort Pool November 11, 2008. Four teams of gentlemen from the Alpha Delta Gamma fraternity competed in the event, which revived the old Barry tradition of an annual water ballet performance. Barry staffers Ed Londono, Sean Kramer, Maria Tomaino and Jamie Carrig served as judges while Barry President Sister Linda Bevilacqua, OP, PhD, Provost Dr. Linda Peterson and Vice President of Institutional Advancement Ann Paton were in attendance as spectators.

More than $500 in prizes and giveaways were awarded to the various student groups that participated. Chipotle gave food to all of the volunteers working the event and the Florida Marlins Street Team was in attendance to give away prizes. Local deejay William Penn House MCed the event and brought along a troupe of dancers dressed as mermaids and Polynesian dancers.
