A Weekend to Remember

Members from the class of 1959 and 1974 celebrated their 50th and 35th anniversaries recently during Barry’s Reunion Weekend 2009. A group of about 80 alumni came to campus from February 27 to March 1 to share memories and take part in long-standing Barry traditions, such as Sunday’s Champagne Brunch, as well as new ones, like the second annual “Barry’s Big Night Out” celebration at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Eleven members of the class of 1959 were inducted into the Golden Shield Society, honoring alumni who graduated 50 years ago. Richard Reeves accepted the medallion for his wife, Marion (Riley) Reeves, who passed away in December 2008. The inductees and other alumni celebrated the honor at a brunch March 1 in the university’s new Andy Gato Gallery.
