A True Champion
A champion has been appointed to lead the way for major fundraising at Barry University. Victoria Champion, who has a plethora of experience in the field, was recently named director of major gifts and will work in the University’s
Division of Institutional Advancement. She will be responsible for leading major gift fundraising efforts and will work closely with donors on outright and planned gifts.
Champion was previously with the L. D. Pankey Dental Foundation as director of development and formerly served as the executive director of the Annual Fund at the University of Miami. She also served as campaign director and marketing director for United Way of Miami-Dade County from 1990 to 1997. Champion earned a master’s degree in liberal studies from the University of
Miami and a bachelor’s degree in
business administration from Woodbury University, Burbank, California.

Barry has an outstanding reputation for providing a quality education, long-standing values of social justice and dedicated faculty and staff, and I’m proud to be here,” Champion said. “The University has enormous potential for growth, and I look forward to advancing Barry’s mission with donors at this important time in our history.”
Champion received the national Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) while at the University of Miami. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and is involved in a variety of community organizations.
