Up to par

Men’s golf head coach Jimmy Stobs, now in his eighth season, has these men playing some great golf.

The men have been ranked No. 1 nationally by Golf World magazine, NIKE Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) since December. The men’s golf team received 13 of the 15 first place votes in the Golf World/NIKE Golf Division II Coaches’ Poll.

This spring the Bucs competed in six tournaments, finishing in the top five all but once, including the championship at the Buccaneer Invitational.

Junior Chris Carlin leads the Bucs with a 71.05 stroke average, the only player on the team averaging under par (-0.53 against par). Seniors Victor Billskoog and Carlos Velez are also having great seasons; Billskoog is averaging a total of 71.89 strokes, and Velez 72.37 strokes per round.
