Center for Community Economies

Housed within the BICED offices at Barry University’s Andreas School of Business and in affiliation with the School of Social Work, The Center for Community Economies has been established to provide assistance in the development of businesses in targeted economic development zones.

Our aims are to:

  1. In conjunction with community organizations and business-owners, the center focuses on identifying the economic and financial needs of the community and assisting them in developing strategic plans and outcomes.
  2. Create and disseminate electronic materials that provide information on the state-of-the-science in business management as applied to local non-profit organizations and local family-owned businesses.
  3. Promote community business-to-business networking and potential partnering opportunities to enhance overall community effectiveness.
