The Six Senses

  • Generally available once a year
  • Three credit hours…two hours of lecture + two hours of lab per week
  • We are subjected to a daily barrage of sights, sounds, smells, touches, and sensations, yet we know relatively little about the ways our bodies integrate and interpret these signals
  • The Six Senses explores the principles of vision, olfaction, and the other sensory modalities
  • Lecture topics cover current ideas about morphology and physiological function of eyes, ears, and other tissues of sensory perception, as well as the theories on integration of those tissues in producing the image of the world we perceive
