Program Overview: Pre-Professional Specialization
This major requires a minimum of 40 credits including Biology 104, 112, 216, 341 and at least one course from each of the following core areas:
- Growth and Development (Human or Comparative Anatomy)
- Cellular and Molecular Biology (Cell Biology or Microbiology)
- Physiological and Biochemical Principles (Human or Comparative Physiology)
- Environmental Biology (Ecology or Marine Biology or Environmental Science)
- Biological Theory (Evolution or Seminar or Virology)
Students must also fulfill the following non-biological requirements:
- Chemistry (16 semester hours)
- Calculus (Note prerequisites)
- Physics (8 semester hours)
- Theology or Philosophy (Bioethics or Environmental Ethics)
Note: Students planning to teach at the secondary level should add Biology 476.
