Welcome Message from the Biomedical Sciences Director

On behalf of our faculty and staff, I am pleased to introduce you to the Barry University Graduate Biomedical Sciences (BMS) program. Steeped in a tradition of rigor, the program prepares students who wish to advance as health care professionals or biomedical scientists. The curriculum serves to strengthen a student’s application for medical, dental or other professional health education by delivering a sequence of core science courses similar to the first-year of a medical, dental, or podiatric curriculum. Our program is designed to provide motivated students with an intensive and unique learning experience.

The BMS program includes coursework in Biochemistry, Histology, Human Anatomy, Neuroanatomy and Physiology. We are equipped with an Anatomage table, which is the most technologically advanced virtual dissection and visualization system that is being embraced by many of the world’s leading medical institutions and schools. Students may choose an array of electives including, but not limited to, Cancer Biology, Genetics or Medical Informatics that will prepare them to excel in medical or dental programs. Students will attend classes at our new, modern College of Nursing and Health Sciences building in downtown Hollywood, Florida.

This program is selective, demanding, and best suited for those students who are committed to excellence and willing to work towards attaining their goals. With its challenging curriculum, supportive and highly-trained faculty, Barry University’s Graduate Biomedical Sciences program has a 25-year record of preparing students for acceptance into medical and dental schools. Barry has gained an enormous reputation for developing well-prepared applicants. In fact, over the last few years, an impressive number of program graduates have advanced directly to medical or dental school.

We eagerly look forward to helping you achieve your goals!
