Dear Prospective Students,

Thank you for your interest in Barry University School of Social Work. I want to acknowledge how pleased I am that you are considering an undergraduate degree in social work (BSW). This is a segment of your journey that does not repeat itself, so careful decision making about the best learning environment for you is critical. As you are considering Barry University, I want to make sure that you have access to the School of Social Work and the practitioners that have years of experience in our profession so that you can make an informed decisions about your choice of undergraduate social work major and career. Additionally, I want to ensure that the transition from your previous school is seamless and that you are fully aware of both social work and general distribution courses that you would be required to take to achieve your BSW. The School of Social Work is taking the initiative to become further involved in the undergraduate admissions process. We know firsthand how difficult it can be for students to enter into a new environment without any direction. Therefore as you make your decision about whether to attend Barry University, I encourage you to meet with us in the School of Social Work. Barry University School of Social Work offers:

  1. Exceptional undergraduate BSW education that is fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education
  2. Eligibility for Barry’s 7 month Advanced Standing Master’s in Social Work program
    Students that graduate with a BSW degree would have completed the foundation year courses for social work practice. These foundation years courses, completed over the duration of your undergraduate career, are equivalent to 1st year graduate level courses towards the master’s in social work degree.
