The Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)

The Council on Social Work Education is a nonprofit national association representing over 3,000 individual members as well as 158 graduate and 453 undergraduate programs of professional social work education. CSWE was founded in 1952 and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the sole accrediting agency for social work education in the country. Among the many reasons which might lead you to select Barry, this year we note the School's perfect accreditation by CWSE of its BSW program (July 2003 - June 2007) and reaccredidation of the MSW program (effective July 2003 - June 2010). Nationally not more than 10% of all schools of social work are cited with no "concerns" or follow-up assignments upon accreditation review by the Council on Social Work Education.
