Field Education / Internships

Field Education / InternshipsIn your senior year in the Bachelor of Social Work program, you will intern in a South Florida community agency, working with real people who have critical needs. This internship will enable you to translate the knowledge you gain in the classroom into the professional skills you will use in your career.

Your BSW internship will involve at least 448 hours of experience over the fall and spring semesters. This placement will emphasize a broad range of generalist skills development in working with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations.

Field Advising. During your internship, you will be matched with a school liaison who will serve as your field advisor, monitoring your progress in field and ensuring the integration of your field experience with the Bachelor of Social Work course content.
