Earn a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Less than Five Years
A Master’s Degree in Seven Months
Barry University offers an accelerated Master of Social Work (MSW) program that you can enter once you’ve finished the undergraduate (BSW) degree program. This fully accredited 32- credit hour program is taught at our conveniently located Miami Shores Campus. Students currently have the option of enrolling in the fall, spring, or summer semester.
Why Should I Get an MSW Degree?
You will be well-prepared to obtain state licensure in clinical social work, and to find satisfying employment in the diverse field of human services through Barry's clinical social work program. Our outstanding reputation is acknowledged by local agencies' preference to hire Barry MSW graduates. Barry's MSW program received a perfect accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education, placing it in the top 10% of all schools of social work nationally!
Approximately 85% of Barry’s BSW students take advantage of the opportunity to pursue an MSW immediately upon graduation from the BSW program.
How Do I Apply?
The admissions application for the MSW program may be submitted when you are a senior in the Barry BSW program. In fact, you don’t have to decide now whether or not you want to proceed to the MSW program; you can decide as you progress through the undergraduate social work major. For now, follow the application process for the BSW program.
Admission Requirements
In addition to completing the BSW program requirements, you must achieve a 3.0 cumulative GPA in your undergraduate Social Work courses in order to qualify for the accelerated MSW program. Only the courses taught within the School of Social Work are considered when calculating this GPA; any minor or elective courses taken in the University’s other schools do not apply.
