Dr. Hart holds a Ph.D. from the University of Miami as well as an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird, where she was class valedictorian. She received a B.A. from Colby College. Prior to joining Barry’s Andreas School of Business, she served as a faculty member at both Florida International University and Lynn University. At FIU, she taught International Business, International Management, and Strategic Management at the MBA and Executive MBA levels in the United States, Jamaica, and Bolivia. At Lynn University, she developed the Financial Valuation and Investment Management MBA specialization and taught Consulting, Strategic Management, and Corporate Development courses at the undergraduate, MBA and Ph.D. levels. Her research interests include international management, market entry and selection strategies, and corporate governance practices as they relate to business performance.
Before joining academia, Dr. Hart began her career in the private sector, working with AIRINC, Chase Manhattan Bank, the Otis Elevator Company, and Ryder System, Inc. where she conducted research and/or established business operations in more than 70 countries. Dr. Hart has worked on greenfield investment, joint venture, acquisition, and divestiture projects on multiple continents, conducting business in four languages. In addition to her faculty responsibilities at Barry, she is principal of LLK Global Advisory Services through which she provides strategic planning and development opportunity consulting services to with local, national, and international for-profit and non-profit organizations. Dr. Hart has also conducted corporate training for several Fortune 500 companies, small and medium sized firms, and public sector service organizations.
