Evening Seminars

The School of Business has had several keynote speakers at our evening seminars. William T. Keon, CFO of the Cisneros Group of Companies, one of the largest media firms in Latin America presented a lecture on "Intercultural Observations in a Real-world International Business." Susan Batura from KPMG, Phil De Mena from Sunrise Development Services, Dr. Luigi Salvaneschi from Barry, and Eugene Becker, former CEO of American Bankers, discussed "The Importance of Selling Skills in Business Careers." Williard Shepard of NBC 6 spoke on "Business and Community Service." Ms. Shelby Sockbeson from Right Management Consultants gave excellent information on "The Current Trends and Future Direction of Business Careers."

Linda Mullins from Assurant Group, Karin Ellis of CompuPros, Maurice Pent of, and June Randall of Miami-Dade County participated in a panel discussion on "Information Systems and the Business Environment." For entrepreneurs we had Professor Gustavo Tondi from the University of Buenos Aires speak on "Small Business in Latin America" and Professor Raul Saroka of the University of San Andres in Buenos Aires who lectured on "The Future of E-commerce in Latin America." Our own Barry professors Drs. Greg Winter, Inge Nickerson, Lewis Lash, and Andres Garcia presented "Managing for the Future: Using Critical Skills."
