Teaching Philosophy

“Teaching upper division students in the School of Business involves a process of integrating concepts taught in the classroom with the real-world environment which they will soon enter. The more involved the student is in the processes, the more profound the learning can and will be.”

Lew Lash was born in Michigan where he earned his BS in Accounting from Central Michigan University and his Master’s degree from the University of Michigan. The primary thrust of his early career was the management of human resources areas within Eastern Airlines from which he retired in 1987. Having received his Doctor of Business Administration degree, with distinction, from Nova Uniersity in 1981, Dr. Lash joined Barry University in 1987, serving as faculty member, associate dean, and dean of the Andreas School of Business, returning to the faculty in 1998.
