Dr. Alex Sharland obtained his MBA at Virginia Tech and his doctorate at Florida State University. Prior to entering the academic world, Dr. Sharland worked for over ten years in insurance and international banking in the city of London.

Dr. Sharland’s research interests focus on business to business issues, especially as they relate to strategic relationships. He has published a number of articles on this subject and on issues related to education.

Dr. Sharland has provided business consulting services to many companies and has served on the Board of Directors for several companies. His clients include companies in Miami, North Carolina and Germany.
