Barry director’s memory honored by County Commission through proclamation

Barry University’s former director of Entrepreneurial Institute, Dr. Philip Mann, received a proclamation posthumously from Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jean Monestime. Dr. Mann was the director of Barry University’s Entrepreneurial Institute, which helps train aspiring business owners in minority communities.

Dr. Mann helped many people in the community, from female inmates, whom he mentored through a prison rehabilitation program to leaders in our community such as Commissioner Monestime who was once his student. Dr. Mann, who died May 9th of this year was 82.

This initiative by Leroy Jones, director of Neighbors and Neighbors Association in collaboration with Commissioner Monestime secured the memory of Dr. Mann’s 30-plus years working across South Florida providing educational training and assistance.
