Human Resources Mission

The Human Resources Department of Barry University seeks to develop and implement policies, programs, and benefits that will create and sustain a highly qualified workforce and a quality of work life that will assist the University in fulfilling its mission: offering students a quality education, committing itself to assuring a religious dimension, and providing community service and presence within a more caring environment.

Additionally, we believe each employee is entitled to a full and rewarding position. With this privilege comes accountability and responsibility to make decisions, and a willingness to work toward positive outcomes and to be evaluated based on performance.

Human Resources must be flexible and responsive to the specific and often unique requirements of individual areas, while at the same time maintaining equity across the institution. Each employee is valued for his/her unique contributions in attaining University goals.

For all employees, the department must seek to develop and maintain an organizational environment that fosters and records the contributions of our employees in support of the University's mission. We must provide human resource leadership through sound programs on a fair and consistent basis for all University employees.
